If you haven't heard of FamilySearch.org, shame on you! (just kidding)
Seriously, log on and start working on your geneology!
Since it's Memorial Weekend, my mom wanted to go visit all the cemeteries that we could during the weekend to take pictures of the headstones to upload onto FamilySearch.
I was more than willing to tag along with my camera and
to hear all the fun stories about these people.
Sunday is the McDonald's day, and Monday is the Stallings day.
We started the first day on Saturday by visiting the Morgan side.
When we visit cemeteries, we don't just go and leave a flower.
Every year we go and we clean off the headstone to make it as beautiful as it can be.
First stop: Benjamin City Cemetery
Next stop: Spanish Fork City Cemetery
^^ (These two were Deaf, so the scripture on the back reads,
"Blessed are the pure in heart for they shall see and hear God"
I love that so much, and loved hearing stories about these two from my grandpa!
Next stop: Provo City Cemetery
(after a lunch break at Five Guys to let the rain blow over)
^^ (Also while we were at the Provo City Cemetery, visited my parents neighbor, she was the sweetest lady and her husband Bill misses her terribly!)
Last stop: Lehi City Cemetery
It was such a good start to this weekend of remembering.
I love hearing the stories of these people, seeing my Grandparents faces light up when we are eager to visit their headstones, and to see the beautiful headstones throughout the cemeteries decorated!
Can't wait to visit more cemeteries throughout the years
(next year we want to head up to Canada to visit family up there too!)
It's also been fun to upload all these pictures to FamilySearch so that others can see what their headstones look like as well.
