StG Getaway

This last weekend, Andy and I headed down south.
We thought
"It'll be really hot like everyone keeps saying, but it'll be good to just lay out by the pool and relax"
Let's just say, "hot" isn't really what happened down there.
Friday, we got all ready and were about to head up to the pool when we stepped outside into a huge thunderstorm.
We got in the car and went to the pool anyway since it's an indoor/outdoor pool.
We hung out in the hot tub for a little while, then headed back home.
I know right...hot tub? In St. George? In the middle of July? Yeah. Doesn't sound right.
I was kind of bummed about that, because I was really wanting to swim this trip.

Saturday, we woke up and headed to breakfast at this place my parents had heard about.
It's called "Breakfast at Tifany's".
It's in Santa Clara, and it's a cute little place between a couple houses.
All the seating is outdoors, so we were happy that it wasn't too hot, or too cold.
The food was really good, my only complaint was that there wasn't a ton to choose from on the menu.
I ordered a Creme Brûlée French Toast. It was very yummy.
Andy ordered a bacon omelet that was really good with country gravy on top.

After breakfast on Saturday, we wanted to go on a hike somewhere.
But prior to our trip, we hadn't planned very well.
I hadn't done any laundry, or packed at all.
So an hour before we were going to leave, we put all the things we thought we wanted to wear in the bag and I was going to wash it when we got down there.
Let's just say we forgot a lot of important things....
So we made due with what we had.
Which meant that going on a hike, I would have to wear my Salt Water Sandals..
since flip flops would have been worse.
The hike was gorgeous, but hotter than we could even handle.
So 15 minutes into the hike, we turned around and headed back.
Wasn't the smartest thing to do in St. George at 2:00 in the afternoon.
We decided to head back to the house and go swimming.
We went to the pool and it was packed with like 30 children, so we bagged that idea,
and just went back and watched a movie...after our golf cart ride!

Sunday, we had come home just in time for the National Ice Cream Party!

All in all, it was kind of a bust of a trip, but EXACTLY what we needed.
It was amazing to get away and just have it be us two with no cares in the world.
We ate when WE wanted to, watched movies WE wanted to watch, etc.
Very good, US trip!

And I looked like this the whole trip....no blow drying and no normal looking clothes.

We hope that we can do this trip every year!
All ready excited for next year!

Love, B

National Ice Cream Day

Read about last year's Ice Cream Party here.

Normally it's the 3rd Sunday in July, but this year we decided to keep it around the 15th like last year.
So this year was the 14th of July.
It was a ton of fun, and great turn out!
Thanks again to everyone who came.
If you'd like to be on the invite list for next year, give me your email address!

Ice Creams this year that were made:
Key Lime Pie, Salted Caramel, Caramel Apple, Caramel Pecan, Raspberry, and Peach Pecan.
(Sort of a theme...not planned)
We are thinking next year that we will have everyone tell us in advance what kind of ice cream they will be making, that way we can through different kinds in there too!

Happy National Ice Cream Day everyone!
Hope you enjoyed some ice cream this month too!
