Happy Memorial Day Weekend

I love Memorial Day Weekend!
It's like the first day of summer in my mind.
The start of BBQ's, playing outside and marvelous sunshine!

On Saturday, we went and got our Pass of All Passes redeemed so that we could go with
Phill and the boys to Trafalga.
When we got there, Phill and Kendrick were in line for the Go Karts.
Unfortunately there is only one 2 person Go Kart, and it's not allowed to be on the track when the single ones are on there.
So they raced around the track...alone.
Bummer!

Memorial Day, it's amazing to have a day for all of us to reflect on those
who have passed on before us that we love.
I love being part of the McDonald family so much, and it was fun
to go up to visit Matt's grave with everyone.
Cemeteries on Memorial Day are the best, they are filled with flowers and so beautiful!
We went up to visit Matt on Sunday after dinner.
It was a little chilly, but nothing too bad!

On Monday, it's tradition in my family to all get together for breakfast/brunch and then head to the Wasatch Lawn Cemetery to visit Grandma Barbara.
This year, we went to my Grandpa Stallings' to do some yard work, eat breakfast then head to the cemetery. While at the cemetery we all gather around Grandma's grave and listen to Grandpa give us a "lecture".
It's always such a good time to be able to hear all the wonderful things abou my Grandma.
I have never met her, but I know that she was in heaven with me telling me all about my family before I came down to earth.
I love my Grandma Barbara already and I haven't even met her!

Later Monday evening, we headed down to our neighbors house to light off the canon.
It was a great way to remember those who have fought and died for our freedom.
Unfortunately we only had enough gun powder for one light off, and it wasn't very loud.
Oh well, just can't wait for the 4th of July now!

Last, but certainly not least...
I literally have the cutest husband ever.
If he sees someone in need of help, he'll always be right there to help.
I didn't know where he went, until I looked over and saw him helping some random lady who was alone and having a hard time carrying all her stuff.
He helped her find all the graves she was looking for and helped her back to her car.
He's amazing!
I cannot believe how lucky I am!!

I hope you all had a wonderful Memorial Day Weekend!

Love, B
