Tacoma/Portland Wedding Week Part 1

Saturday, May 17 || Day 1 - Driving
Around 9:00am, we got all packed up and headed on our way to Tacoma, WA.
("we" being, my parents, me, and my grandparents, all packed in one car)
Our first stop was Twin Falls to stretch our legs at the Shoshone Falls and eat some lunch.

The plan was to stop in Baker City, OR for our first night.
We did a longer day on the first day, so the second day wouldn't be as long of a drive.

Sunday, May 18 || Day 2 - Driving
My Grandparents lived in Richland, WA for a year or so while my grandpa was stationed there.
So we made a pit stop in Richland to check out the old church building
(the only one when they lived there),
and their old house!
While we were at the church, my dad went in to check out the building.
He came out and made us all come in.
When we walked in, there was a missionary couple standing with him.
They introduced themselves as "Elder & Sister Lyberrt"
It was Lucy's uncle and aunt that would be coming to the wedding on Thursday!
It was a total random occurrence but fun to meet them!

While we were taking these pictures, the guy who lives here came out.
We explained that they used to live here, long long ago!
**They were "pretty sure" this was their house, after I had already taken a picture
of a different house they thought was theirs!**

Once we arrived in University Place (right outside of Tacoma),
we had Sunday dinner with Lucy's family.
It was good to meet all of them finally.
Plus, I was just happy to be out of the car!
Chase was very eager to show us the golf course down the street from Lucy's.
Chambers Bay Golf Course
It's going to be the location of next years Masters.
Very pretty view!
It was raining when we went the first time.

It is a full walking course, which means that there are no carts on the course.
It's also a public park so there is a walking path that goes through/around the course, about 3 miles total.
It was gorgeous!

Monday, May 19 || Day 3 - Site seeing in Tacoma, WA
We decided to spend this day site seeing in Tacoma, since Tuesday we'd be in Seattle.

Washington is such a beautiful state!
With all the rain they get, it makes all the plants/flowers just gorgeous!
First we went to the "Museum of Glass", but it's closed on Mondays and Tuesdays.
Most of the cool glass things are outside of it anyway, so we still got to see stuff.

5-Mile Drive

The 5-mile drive is just that, a drive that is 5 miles long surrounded by trees,
and spots you could pull over and get out to look around.

Rose Gardens
We got there about a week early, so it wasn't totally in bloom yet.

Chamber's Bay - Sun shining!
