Every year, the friday/saturday before Christmas, my parents have the grandkids sleepover.
It's a sleepover so that the parents can go out and finish any last minute shopping needs they have!
The kids play with Grandma/Grandpa, have pancakes in the morning, and decorate cookies on saturday afternoon, as well as put their handprints on their pillow beds!!
Decorating cookies is one of our favorite traditions!
And of course, the boys decorated in their undies!
No better way!
We did Parker's handprints too, but I didn't get a picture!
I can do that later!
On Christmas Eve, it is tradition that we all get together for a big dinner.
The last couple years we have done it at my parents and had ribs!!
Fall off the bone, delicious ribs!!
This year, Grandma/Grandpa Morgan, Grandpa/Carol, and Uncle David joined in too!
Usually we go to the Center Point Church Candlelight Service, but since that was the time the McDonald's were doing their Christmas Eve gift exchanged, we skipped out on the church service, and went to open gifts!
After hitting up the McDonald's for gifts, we met back with my family at my parents house!
The other tradition that we have on Christmas Eve, is that instead of opening pajamas, we open a new game to play.
And we play it through the night!
(Phill and Leslie don't go to the church thing either, they go home and open their Christmas Eve pajamas and meet back at my parents wearing their pajamas)
All night The Christmas Story plays and we always have it running in the
background while we play games!
The last few years, we've all slept over at my parents, which makes it fun to put the kids to bed, then play games all night and not have to worry about getting them home.
This year, the game that we got was Quirkle.
It's pretty fun but the only problem was that instead of a big family game like we usually get,
it was a 2-4 player game. So instead, we just played in teams.
It was a lot of fun!
Since we all slept at my parents,
we wake up in the morning and head into the living room to open presents!
Katie took all of Vince's old baseball uniforms and made a big blanket out of them!
Super cute!
After presents, we eat dinner, and play for a little bit.
After all that, we all go our separate ways!
This year, Andy and I went up to my Grandpa Stallings' house, then came home and hung out with him family that rest of the night!
WE LOVE CHRISTMAS TIME!
