The Fourth of July is a packed weekend, full of fun activities with the family.
On the list of "to-dos" for our Fourth of July fun:
*Balloons
*Parade
*Campout
*Outdoor Movie
*Breakfast on the 4th
*Stadium of Fire
July 3rd
We woke up bright and early to head down to the Balloon Festival.
This is one of my favorite parts of the 4th.
We were worried about the weather, seeing as it was a little stormy looking as we drove up.
Unfortunately, our worries came true, and not very many balloons even blew up,
let alone took off.
But it was still fun to watch most of the balloons blow up and then go back down.
As Kendrick, Ryan and I were watching our neighbors balloon go up, the wind came and blew it right back down but the opposite way than it had gone up.
Luckily we dove out of the way in time to not get trapped under the balloon.
It was pretty crazy and I think Kendrick and Ryan were a little scared for a minute.
After we watched the balloons for a bit, we headed over to look at the Life Flight helicopter.
The kids were very excited to see it,
but we were all sad that they weren't letting people in to look at it.
We then headed to Magleby's Fresh for breakfast (just like the rest of Utah County).
After breakfast, we went to hang out at my parents for a little while.
The boys went on motorcycle rides with Grandpa and we all just hung out outside enjoying the beautiful summer heat!
Later that night we set up "camp" in the backyard.
Cooked some burgers, and set up the movie screen as well.
Everyone came over (except Chase & Lucy worked), and we all snuggled up
and watched Meet the Robinsons.
After the movie, or during for some people, my parents, Kendrick, Ryan, Andy and I went to bed in the tent for our campout!
July 4th
When we all woke up in the morning, we got ready to go to
my parents' ward breakfast at the church.
In the sky were all the balloons, it was so pretty but we were bummed we didn't go that morning!
We all got ready, and headed to the parade.
The more I go to the Provo Parade, the more I am disappointed.
It's just something you have to do for the fourth,
but I really wish Provo would step it up with their "Grand Parade".
Like maybe not so many army trucks, more candy, and more fun things to look at..
Between the parade and Grandma & Grandpa Morgan's house, the kids played in the water while Andy and I headed home to rest for a little bit before coming back up for the night.
We all headed to my Grandparents house up on the Y Mountain.
I taught the kids a game that I used to play at my grandparents house.
You run to the sidewalk, and if a car is coming you have to run and hide before the car drives past or else you lose a life.
The boys loved it but man was I tired after it.
When the sun finally goes down, we all gather on my grandparents back porch to watch the Stadium of Fire fireworks.
This year, my mom bought glow sticks for all the kids to play with since fireworks (sparklers) are banned up by their house.
The kids loved the glow sticks more anyway. So it was a WIN.
My grandparents have a gorgeous view of basically Payson--->Lehi.
One of my favorite things is watching all the fireworks going off across the state while we watch for the main event of Stadium of Fire.
July 5th
Since the first time going to the Balloons was a sort of BUST, we decided to go again on the 5th.
This time we took only Kendrick and Ryan since they were the only ones willing to wake up that early...yet again!
It was much better weather and all the balloons went up in the air, but didn't quite make it back to the field.
It was still amazing to watch all the gorgeous balloons blow up, and take off.
It was very jam packed, busy weekend, but we had a blast celebrating with my family.
